We’re making the styles you wear every day more sustainable. Items in our Eco Collection use materials and innovative processes that have a lower impact on the environment and we’re working with certified suppliers to expand our range each season.
We launched our Eco Collection featuring jeans, tees and Oxford shirts made with organic cotton.
35% of the garments within our autumn/winter range are now part of our Eco collection, including outerwear, knitwear, shirts, jersey and accessories. 80% of denim and all our £20 Chino trousers and £16 chino shorts now contain organic cotton.
By spring 2021, 40% of the garments we produce will contain at least 50% organic cotton or sustainable viscose, or a minimum of 20% recycled fibres. Our vision is to replace all ‘conventional’ materials with sustainable alternatives over time.
To be considered part of our eco collection items must include at least 50% organic cotton or sustainable viscose, or at least 20% recycled fibres.
Organic cotton is grown using less water and without the use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides or Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) meaning it has a lower impact on the environment and the farmers who grow it.
Recycled polyester is made mostly from recycled plastic bottles, but also textiles and other plastic items, helping to reduce waste and conserve precious natural resources.
All our vegan items are free from animal products. We work closely with carefully selected suppliers paying special attention to glues, finishing sprays, dyes and treatments used in the production process. Look out for the “PETA Approved Vegan” logo on our vegan products.
REDUCING OUR IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT
We’re committed to maximising our energy efficiency. Since 2015, 100% of the energy we buy in the UK and Ireland has come from renewable sources.
All of our online orders are now shipped in bags containing up to 75% recycled plastic polymers, and are also suitable for recycling.
Even the smallest changes can make a difference. All Burton care labels are now made from recycled polyester, reducing our consumption of raw materials.

WORKING TOGETHER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE
We’re proud to partner with organisations that make people’s lives better. We’ve raised more than £140,000 for Prostate Cancer UK to date and are working with Trees for Cities to fund vibrant outdoor learning spaces for kids.
ETHICAL TRADE
Our ethical trade programme ensures that workers at all of our factories receive fair treatment. Our Code of Conduct contains specific provisions to ensure that working conditions in our factories are safe and hygienic, child labour is prohibited and that working hours are not excessive.
