1. The Canary Islands

Whethere you want to lay by the beach and sip on a nice, cold beer or visit some of the beautiful natural parks, the Canary Islands is a great escape from the chillier British climes. And it only takes 4 hours to get there.
It may not be short weather but Budapest is the perfect break if you’re looking for a cheap and easy getaway. Packed full of culture, outdoor cafes and promenades, the city comes into bloom in spring. Flight time to Budapest is between 2h15 and 2h30.
If you’re looking for sandy beaches, sun, great food and lively nights out then this is the place to go. Start the day by relaxing at the beach or take a stroll around the Alucidia Old Town. If you’re feeling adventurous, the Jungle Parc is worth a look. When it comes to eating out, you’ll be spoilt for choice just make sure you go authentic at a local tapas restaurant and then try one of the many cocktail bars to make it memorable. Again, this is just 2 and a half hours away.
Take your pick from Marrakesh, known as the ‘Red City’ of Morocco due its red walls surrounding it or Agadir which is known for its golden sandy beaches on the Atlantic coast. If you love culture then you’ll love Morocco – it’s full of bold colours, spicy foods and of course, the beautiful sand dunes of the Sahara Desert. Go on, channel your inner Laurence of Arabia and head to a camp out under the starts for the evening. You can fly to Marrakesh in under 4 hours.
Spring is one of the best times to head over to Barcelona – not only because it’s affordable but the weather is pleasant. It’s just warm enough to head down to the beach and try out some water sports, but not too hot that you can’t spend your day walking around and seeing some amazing attractions. We’d definitely recommend visiting the Sangrada Familia (The Cathedral), Barcelona football stadium and the zoo of course. It will take you just over 2 hours to fly to Barcelona so what are you waiting for?
