Bored of the tasteless turkey, boiled brussels or plain pudding? Then its time to Spice up your Christmas with the help of Fergus, the founder of Gran Luchito. He know’s a thing or two about making flavoursome food, inspired by a trip to Oaxaca in South Mexico where he discovered smoked chillies which became the focal point of the Gran Luchito product range. Over there chilies are part of the daily diet and are found in most foods, as well as giving great flavour it’s traditionally believed that the heat of the chilli wards off evil spirits!

Being a bit of a food connoisseur, we asked Fergus for some ideas to spice up our usual xmas dinner, giving it a macho twist and to make the flavours really stand out, here are his awesome recipes to try this Christmas…

Smokin Hot Brussels Sprouts with Bacon

Ingredients:
Brussels sprouts,
pack of bacon ( cut into strips)
Gran Luchito Paste
Olive oil & salt

Method:
Cut Brussels sprouts into quarters and plunge into salted boiling water. Boil for 1 min drain and cool using running tap water.
In a roasting tray mix the sprouts along with bacon, dash of olive oil and heaped soon of Gran Luchito. Roast at 180c for 25 mins.

 

Chilli Honey Glazed Carrots

Ingredients:
Carrots
Gran Luchito smoked chilli honey
Salt

Method:
Peel carrots, plunge into salted boiling water and boil for 1 min. Drain and cool under running tap water. In roasting pan mix carrots, 3 heap teaspoons of honey and sprinkle of salt. Roast for 20 mins at 190c

 

Mexican Pineapple Dessert

Ingredients:
Fresh pineapple cut into chunks ( you can also used tinned pineapple)
Juice from one orange
Gran Luchito Smoked Chilli Honey
2 cups of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon

Method:
Mix all ingredients together and roast for 45 mins at 170c. Serve either hot or cold with a dollop of creme fraiche or vanilla ice cream.

 

Pigs on Fire

Ingredients:
Steaky bacon
Prunes ( stoned)
Gran Luchito

Method:
Cut the streaky bacon in half, spread Gran Luchito paste onto bacon. Place one prune at the end of the bacon and roll.
Roast in over at 180c until bacon is crispy which will be around 20mins.
