The modern man’s guide to dressing well every day

Now bigger than ever, London Fashion Week Men's drew to a close on Monday, showcasing the best of new British menswear both on and off the catwalk. Spotted in the crowds at London's Autumn/Winter 2018/19 shows, here is our pick of Street Style trends that you can buy and wear now.

The overcoat

When the temperature drops, nothing says smart like an overcoat. And the crowds at London Fashion Week Men's were keen to show off this wardrobe staple.

Whether worn in place of a jacket with smart trousers, a shirt and tie or as a layer over your suit, an overcoat will always be a useful piece of kit. Note: the roll neck is a great alternative layer to a shirt under your suit as seen here on Oliver Cheshire.

As for the coat, go for wool or a wool blend to keep you comfortably warm in colder weather. It's the perfect piece to pull together your outfit.

The grey suit

If you're looking for evidence to defend the grey suit, London Fashion Week Men's 18 should provide you with plenty. From Prince of Wales check to double-breasted, the grey suit certainly won in terms of Street Style tailoring.

Perhaps this is because, as seen above, the grey suit is more versatile than its navy or black counterparts. You can wear it with a white shirt and tie. Or style casually with a roll neck, scarf, white trainers and beanie.

The jersey sweat

As these guys show, the sweatshirt is not just for your downtime. It'll add that extra layer of comfort when the temperature drops. To keep it casually smart, choose complementary colours such as greys, navys and black.

And once again, the overcoat shows how you can elevate a casual outfit of a hoodie, jeans, boots and beanie into something smarter.
